Stewburner, computon

Recent interesting catchwords from the Double-Tongued Dictionary are:

stewburner n. a person who works in a naval commissary.

computon n. in information technology, a measure of power or capacity of devices or systems such as storage, networks, or computer processors. The more common spelling is “computron.”

I’ve always seen that as “computron” like neutron, although I suppose one could argue for “computon” like proton. In any case, I first heard that coinage in 1984, so it’s not exactly a new usage.

Why are you assuming that anything posted here has to be new?

“Computron” may be common but “computon” is not, which is why I recorded it, though I should have made a mention of “computron” there.
