More than 200,000 unregistered foreigners live on Spain’s Costa del Sol.
´ With roughly 11% of the European Union’s population and about 10% its GDP, Spain accounted for 22% of Europe’s immigration during 2002. Ecuador alone sent more than 200,000 citizens to Spain from 1998 to 2001. Colombia added almost 150,000 during the same years.
