60 percent of Egypt’s economy comes from tourism. The 2003 American-Iraqi war cost the country more than $2 billion in tourist income.
The U.S. is currently spending an estimated $3 billion per month to maintain its forces in Iraq. American soldiers may need to remain in Iraq for at least five years.
