;It seems silly if you're not a linguist. We were sending letters back and forth, and the climax of it was that he sent me a package with a plastic bag in it, and inside the plastic bag was a glass vial, sealed, with a katydid inside. He included a long letter in red, blue and black ink that went into minute detail about why he thought kaskaskia meant 'cicada.' But I never fully understood what the bug in the jar had to do with what he was attempting to convince me of. He'd obviously gone out and caught it himself. I don't know where else he'd get a dead katydid. I told some members of the Miami tribe about it, and they think he's funny. They view him as a crazy white guy. (Source Link)
