1,260 cats were captured in Akron, O

1,260 cats were captured in Akron, Ohio, since a law went into effect last year barring cats from roaming at large. 969 of those cats were killed and 291 were adopted or claimed by their owners.

Jennifer Mastsroianni, food writer for the Canton Repository, named carmelized as the food-related word of the year.
