Editorial Note: The use of spooty in the first citation is probably a typographical error for spotty, meaning “pimply.” Etymological Note: Probably popularized by the animated cartoon The Angry Beavers, which first aired in the United States in 1997 on the Nickelodeon cable network. On the show the word spoot is used in a variety of ways, especially as an exclamation of dislike, disappointment, or other negative feelings.
