At first I thought "ROFLCOPTER" was meant to conjure up an image of someone Rolling On the Floor Laughing, and then kinda walk-spinning in a Homer Simpson move. But later in the post, "LOLLERSKATES" threw me off.

Proposition: "This is a subject for further inquiry. A modest grant of US $850k would allow me to continue important research on these words and their meanings."

Most comments about the origins of the term trace the origins of the term to this game, but I haven't spent any time verifying it.
