Anyway we finally got on the plane...a tiny little pencil plane which took us to Washington.

i don’t know the meaning excatly..but it might be - a narrow plane having a less seating capacity.

I’m a flight attendant. And we have nicknamed all 757s pencil planes. Or, flying pencils. Because they’re long and impossibly thin.

And actually, the little planes that I think you are describing, are CRJs, and they’re perfectly proportioned little planes. If you’re a Barbie or a Ken doll.
